Francisco “Frank” Mares
Meet Francisco “Frank” Mares, the founder of ProActive Air Conditioning and a proud Dallas native. Raised in East Dallas, Frank always had a love for electronics and a natural curiosity for how things work. After earning his HVAC degree from Lincoln Tech, he spent over 15 years building a reputation for honest, reliable service across North Texas.
But over time, something shifted. Commission-based sales took over the industry, and Frank saw too many homeowners being pushed into expensive replacements they didn’t need. When the company he worked for was bought by private equity, the focus turned to numbers—not people. That didn’t sit right with him.
Frank started ProActive Air Conditioning to bring something better to Dallas. A company rooted in real relationships, fair pricing, and quality work that speaks for itself. Today, he leads a team that shares his values and treats every home like their own.
When he’s not out in the field or training the next generation of techs, you’ll find Frank at home with his wife, three kids, a couple of dogs, and a few chickens—just enjoying the simple things. For him, this work isn’t about sales. It’s about giving back, building trust, and keeping his community comfortable year-round.
